Have you noticed changes in the monarch butterfly population?
Johanna Schroll, a past San Luis Obispo Coast Monarch Docent from Pismo Beach, will offer a Zoom presentation through Sustainable Solano to tell us about the Western Monarch Butterfly and ways we can support their survival.
Topics that will be covered:
- The lifecycle of the Western Monarch Butterfly
- The monarch migration in the U.S.
- The population crash of all monarchs
- Counting monarchs
- What happened to cause the crash?
- And what we can do about it
Also hear from us at the Monarch Milkweed Project, which is dedicated to planting milkweed all over Solano County and working to help restore the Western Monarch butterfly population by creating butterfly “waystations” in both private and public gardens throughout the area. Come learn how you can help.
